The Prize

First prize: A behind-the-scenes tour of the Kings Park Plant Development glasshouse for up to five people.

Runner-up prizes: 10 runner-up prize winners will receive a Kings Park hybrid plant, courtesy of BGPA.

Terms & Conditions

1. Each completed survey is worth one (1) entry into the prize draw. Only one entry may be submitted per person. Additional entries will be excluded from the prize draw.
2. To be eligible, competition entrants must submit a fully-completed survey, either online or in-person at the Kings Park Visitor Information Centre by 4pm, 6th October 2024.
3. Employees of the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority (BGPA) and Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) are not eligible to win.
4. Winners will be drawn by CERM PI, UniSA at the conclusion of the survey. Winners will be drawm at random using an automated process. The first name drawn will receive first prize; the following 10 names drawn will receive runner-up prizes.
5. The winners are responsible for all other expenses associated with the prizes (including travel costs to and from Kings Park to redeem/collect their prize).
6. If a winner is under 18 years of age, the prize must be claimed by their parent or legal guardian.
7. Winners will be contacted via email. 
8. By entering the competition, winners agree to have their first names published by BGPA.
9. The BGPA reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions, and if we do so, we will publish the amended version on the BGPA website prior to the close of the competition.
10. Conditions applicable to the First Prize:
    1. The winner of First Prize is eligible to redeem a free-of-charge, behind-the-scenes tour of the Kings Park Plant Development glasshouse for up to five people. One person in attendance must be the prize winner.
    2. Prize must be redeemed before 31st March 2025.
    3. Tour date and time to be determined by agreement with Senior Plant Breeder, Digby Growns, and the prize-winner. 
    4. Should the determined date and time become infeasible due to reasons attributable to BGPA, a rescheduled date and time will be arranged by discussion with the prize-winner. 
    5. Should the determined date and time become infeasible due to reasons attributable to the prize-winner, a rescheduled date will not be organised and the prize will be forfeited. This condition may be waived by BGPA at the Authority’s discretion.
    6. The BGPA shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including, but not limited to, indirect or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the prize.
    7. The prize includes visiting operational facilities that pre-date current accessibility standards, and is unsuitable for prams, wheelchairs and some other mobility aids. If these conditions result in the prize-winner being unable to redeem the prize, an alternative prize will be arranged. The alternative prize may not be comparable, in monetary value or otherwise, to the original prize. BGPA are not obligated to provide a replacement prize of similar value.
    8. Except in relation to term (g), no prize substitutes are available. 
11. Conditions applicable to the Runner Up Prizes:
    1. 10 runner-up prize winners will receive a Kings Park hybrid plant, courtesy of BGPA. Available plants are Grevillea hybrids and Chamelaucium hybrids, with varieties to be determined by BGPA.
    2. Prize-winners will be offered their choice of plant where possible.
    3. Plants must be collected in person from Kings Park within two weeks of winners being notified, and cannot be mailed or otherwise transported by BGPA.
    4. BGPA take no responsibility for plant illness or death once the prize is collected by the prize-winner.
    5. Prize replacements will not be provided in the event of plant illness or death. 
12. Your personal information submitted for entry into the prize draw will not be used for any other purpose than stated here or released to any third party.
