27 October 2024

Join the Friends of Bold Park Bushland volunteer guides to look for the animals and wildflowers active in Bold Park during the season of Kambarang.

Dates and times

Event information

Kambarang is the Noongar season of new life throughout our local bushland areas, with the many wildflowers providing abundant food for animals and their new offspring.

Insects which are becoming more active as the weather warms up, especially those that feed on nectar. Bees, wasps, and butterflies all gather together around flowers, especially the long flower spikes of balgas.

All this activity provides increased food for our local birds, many of which breed at this time of year when there is plenty to feed their growing chicks. From the honeyeaters feeding at flowers, fantails and pardalotes searching for insects and goshawks soaring while looking for larger prey, there are plenty of birds that can be seen as they look for food.

This free guided walk is led by the Friends of Bold Park Bushland.
