Kings Park Education provides teachers with opportunities to broaden their knowledge and be inspired with practical ideas for excursions and classroom learning. Customised professional learning sessions in the Australian Curriculum areas of E-STEM, Cultural Awareness and Wellbeing can be delivered to meet the specific needs of your school.

Cultural Perspectives in Education
Immersive experience at Kaarta Koomba
Engage with our Aboriginal Education Officer at Kaarta Koomba to understand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history. Develop the knowledge and skills to appropriately introduce cultural education into the classroom. Discuss strategies to help incorporate respectful practices into any learning environment, making planning and programming easy.
Enjoy a walk on country, with a focus on caring for country, botanical knowledge, sustainability, and recognition of the continuing connection to place.
This workshop can be tailored to your school’s professional learning outcomes.
The workshop is 4 hours and $50.00 per person.

Teacher Retreat
Nature for Teacher Wellbeing and Learning
It can be hectic in the classroom. We all know spending time in nature is a great way to reduce stress, improve concentration and just feel happier. Make your next professional learning experience here in Kaarta Koomba, Kings Park. Our education staff provide experiences in, with and for nature to develop positive connections, nature pedagogy and increase confidence teaching outdoors.
The day can be tailored to your needs; with opportunities to hone your survival skills (navigation and shelter building), share a story around the fire*, cook damper and drink billy tea. Visit a bushland site, identify plant species, collect and clean seed and make an herbarium specimen.
This immersive workshop is fun, informative and a great opportunity to ask questions on environmental education.
The workshop is 4 hours and $50.00 per person.
*Campfires are only during Terms 2 & 3
