Tremendous Trees

Trees provide branches that support bird nests and spider webs, hollows used as a safe place to hide, and the flowers and leaves that feed animals of every type. This makes trees the cornerstone block of the bushland ecosystem, supporting many other lifeforms. They are also equally important to humans, from the resources they provided to the Noongar people and early colonists, to the shady spots they create for us to relax under today.

Many of our trees are unique to this area, with the species found in a particular location adapted to suit the local soil and climate. Come and learn about the special traits of our local tree species, how to identify them, and how they support the many animals, fungi, and other plants that live here.

This free guided walk is led by the Friends of Bold Park Bushland.

Prepare for your walk:

• Approximately 1.5 hours duration.
• Walking grade is moderate with some steeper sections; not suitable for wheelchairs and prams.
• Wear sturdy, closed-in shoes and come dressed for the weather with a hat and drinking water.
• There are no toilets in Bold Park. The nearest toilet facilities are at Perry Lakes Reserve.
• All guided walks are free and bookings are generally not required for individuals.

Please contact the Friends of Bold Park Bushland if you have a group greater than ten people who wish to attend.

Our events go ahead in rain or shine, however walks may be cancelled in extreme weather conditions. Refer to the notices section for current closures and service interruptions.
