Paint a Pollinator Terms & Conditions
Criteria for eligibility
- Entries must be submitted by 5pm (AWST) Monday 31 March 2025.
- All entries must be the original work of the competition entrant.
- All entrants must submit their images online or drop off or post their art in Kings Park to the Administration Building (Mon-Fri, 1 Kattidj Close, Kings Park) or Visitor Information Centre (7 days).
- Image files should be in jpeg or PDF format with the highest resolution possible (please keep the file size between 2-10MB).
- The shortlisted entrants may be requested to supply higher resolution images for promotional and display purposes.
- A maximum of three (3) entries per person will be accepted but only one prize will be awarded per person.
- Each entry must comply with competition terms and conditions. Any entry not complying with these conditions will be deemed invalid.
General Information
- The Promoter is the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority* ABN 30 706 225 320 of 1 Kattidj Close, Kings Park, WA 6005.
- The competition opens 9am Monday 10 March 2025 and closes 5pm (AWST) Monday 31 March 2025.
- The winners will be announced on Wednesday 30 April 2025.
- The prize(s) consist of:
- Selected winners' artwork on display as part of the Lantern Luminance installation at Lightscape Kings Park from 13 June - 27 July 2025.
- Top 10 artworks selected by BGPA and Sony Music Entertainment Australia will receive a free family pass to the Lightscape preview night (either 2 children 2 adults or 1 adult 3 children) on 12 June 2025.
- Instructions on how to enter, prize details and other information about the competition form part of these terms and conditions. By participating in this promotion, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- Entry is open to residents of Western Australia. Photo identification may be required upon collection of a prize.
- Employees (or their immediate families) of the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority, or any other partner of the competition, or of retailers, or of suppliers, associated companies or agencies of the Promoter are ineligible to enter.
- The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority or any other partner or associated agency accept no responsibility for any loss, damage, accident, death or injury resulting from the promotion.
- Entry into this competition signifies acceptance of all conditions. The decision regarding the selected entries is final and cannot be contested. No correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter reserves the right to limit entry or amend rules if considered necessary without notice.
Judging
- The winners of this competition will be determined by representatives from BGPA and Sony Music Entertainment Australia.
Winners
- The winners will be notified immediately by email after the decision is made.
- A parent or legal guardian must claim the Family Pass prize.
Prizes
- Any additional costs incurred in accepting the prize will be at the expense of the winner.
- The prize must be taken as supplied and is neither redeemable for cash nor transferable. No responsibility is accepted for any variation in the value of the prize.
- The winner must agree to the terms and conditions of the prize provider before claiming their prize.
- All contestants release from, and indemnify the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority and any other competition partner against, all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of acceptance of any prize(s) or participation in the competition including (but not limited to) loss of income, personal injury and damage to property and whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.
- Not all entries will be selected for the Lightscape trail. Artworks will be selected at the discretion of BGPA and Sony Music Entertainment Australia.
Copyright and permissions
By submitting artworks to the Competition, you confirm and warrant that:
- The entrant is aged between kindy - high school.
- The entrant is the sole author of each entry and that it is an original work.
- The entrant is the sole owner of the artwork copyright.
- The entrant has not licensed or disposed of any rights in the image that would conflict with uses to be made by the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority.
- The Parent or Legal Guardian will be responsible for any claim by any third party in respect of the entry.
- On completion of this competition, the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority will have the right to use all artworks received as entries within the Lightscape 'Lantern Luminance' installation and for the promotion of Lightscape 2025.
Publicity
- The winner agrees to grant the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority a perpetual license to use the artworks for the Kings Park Lightscape trail and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
Changes to the rules
- We reserve the right to amend the rules and if we do so, we will publish the amended version. It is your responsibility to check regularly to make sure you are aware of any updated information. If you do not agree to any changes to these rules, then your only remedy is to withdraw from the competition.
*The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority manages Kings Park and Botanic Garden.
