Strategies and plans
BGPA was established under, and manages Kings Park and Bold Park in accordance with, the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority Act 1998 (the BGPA Act) and Botanic Gardens and Parks Regulations 1999 (the Regulations).
The BGPA Act identifies specific functions and powers that govern the management of Kings Park and Bold Park. We provide, improve and promote recreation and tourism facilities; conserve, enhance and promote the native biological diversity of our parks and our State; undertake research into Western Australia’s flora and promote it for the purposes of horticulture, conservation and education.
Planning for the future
Part 4 of the BGPA Act requires that we manage our parks in accordance with management plans that are reviewed every five years. Ensuring our management plans are prepared and reviewed regularly delivers management outcomes that are relevant and have been subject to community and stakeholder consultation.
