The local bush surrounding Perth in the late 1800s inspired the acclaimed author and illustrator, May Gibbs, to create her well loved characters Snugglepot and Cuddlepie and the big, bad Banksia men and the magical stories she told. You'll be fascinated by the stories of her interesting life and the WA plants that she used in creating her characters.

Date: Sunday 12 November

Start Time: 10.30 am sharp. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early

Meeting Location: Lawn opposite Aspects of Kings Park Gallery Shop

Duration: This walk is up to 1.5 hours in duration

Distance: Approximately 1.5 km.

Difficulty: Easy to moderate degree of difficulty with some uphill and downhill lawn.

Accessibility: This walk is not suitable for wheelchairs, prams or mobility aids due to grassy slopes.

What to wear and bring: Comfortable enclosed walking shoes recommended.Bring sunscreen, hat and water and a raincoat (weather dependent).

Weather: This walk will go ahead if it is raining but in the event of severe weather it may be cancelled. Check the notices section of the Kings Park website https://www.bgpa.wa.gov.au/kings-park for cancellation information.
